Financial innovation, built on knowledge and cooperation.

BLEND INSTITUTE

The Blend Institute is the non-profit arm of the Blend Group, dedicated to producing knowledge, conducting research, and leading the multistakeholder processes that turn ideas into financing solutions for sustainable development

The Blend Institute is a non-profit civil association affiliated with the Blend Group. We manage catalytic resources under the highest standards of transparency and compliance, and we conduct research, knowledge production and advocacy in sustainable finance.

Our role is to convene. Through the Institute, we lead multistakeholder processes that co-create sustainable development financing solutions — building the conditions for large-scale capital mobilization with institutional stability, legal security and meaningful impact.

The Institute has executed projects and contributed to initiatives alongside organizations such as UNCDF, UN-Habitat, UNDP, the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF) and Brazil's Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC), among others.

Every initiative is grounded in robust research and advocacy, advancing sustainable financial practices and fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders. This is how scalable, high-impact financial solutions aligned with global sustainable development goals come to life.

WHO WE ARE

We believe that mobilizing capital for development is not only a financial challenge but a knowledge challenge. The right architecture emerges only when evidence, technical rigor and cross-sector dialogue come together.

HOW WE WORK

01

Technical cooperation for innovation in sustainable finance

We bring actors together to build what no single institution can build alone. Through structured multistakeholder dialogues and dedicated innovation labs, we convene development banks, government, private investors, philanthropy and civil society around a shared problem: working toward financial solutions none would reach in isolation. In our labs, public and private participants co-design new financial architectures, blended-finance mechanisms and other catalytic instruments that align financial returns with socio-environmental benefits.

We provide the technical cooperation that turns dialogue into design: facilitation, modeling, structuring expertise and the institutional rigor to move an idea from the table to a fundable solution, innovation that is both technically sound and broadly owned.

02

Research and knowledge

We are dedicated to research and knowledge generation in sustainable finance. Through scientific studies, applied research and the production of technical information, we identify and promote effective solutions to the challenge of mobilizing capital for sustainable development.

Our work includes in-depth research, analysis of global trends, the design of innovative financial models and the publication of reports and articles that make relevant technical and scientific knowledge usable for those who structure and finance development.

03

Advocacy and international engagement

We proactively promote public and private initiatives that advance sustainable finance globally. Through strategic advocacy, we work to influence policymakers, financial institutions and international organizations to adopt practices and regulations that support environmental sustainability and social justice.

This takes shape in international forums, in collaboration with multilateral organizations and in the multistakeholder dialogues we convene — creating the conditions for capital to flow toward sustainable projects.

HOW WE WORK

Research without dialogue stays on the shelf. Dialogue without rigor produces consensus but not solutions. The Blend Institute exists to hold these together. Combining evidence, multistakeholder cooperation and financial innovation so that capital reaches sustainable development with stability, security and impact.
